To pay homage to this artistic visionary, BreyerFest has added its own version of Leonardo’s Gran Cavallo to this year’s stunning Special Run lineup.  Done on the Peruvian Paso (mold # 576), sculpted by Linda York, this handsome boy has been done in a beautiful rich mahogany liver chestnut sabino.  Leonardo's Gran Cavallo pays homage to a piece of art that wasn’t actually ever created by the original artist!
In 1482, the Duke of Milan commissioned Leonardo Da Vinci to create for him what would have been, at the time, the largest bronze horse statue in the world - standing at a massive 26 feet tall. In preparation for his creation, Leonardo did an extensive amount of research on horses, and even wrote two separate treatises dedicated to the project – one on horse anatomy, and the other included detailed project plans for this commission. Leonardo’s Horse, also known as Gran Cavallo, was unfortunately never created and the original clay model was ultimately destroyed.pays homage to a piece of art that wasn’t actually ever created by the original artist!

BreyerFest will be held July 16-18, 2021.  Models will be shipped the end of July or first part of August, or as soon as we receive them from Breyer.
Breyer models often have flaws especially on the box side of the model.  If you plan to show your model please let us know and we will see if what we have is LSQ.  Although models are New In Their Box, the boxes often get damaged in shipping to us so also let us know if you need a pristine box.  Thank you!
